The first month of 2021 is behind us already, and the entire Eagle Village family is joyful to move forward with you.

We will send our Annual Impact Report in the fall to highlight our progress from the previous year, but felt that there were some celebrations from 2020 that should be shared now!

So, we want to use this post as an opportunity to appreciate some of the great strides we made in 2020 as an organization AND as a community…

Enjoyed A Beautiful Christmas: Despite the difficulties of COVID we were still able to give our residential and foster family kids a Christmas they will remember with joy. Thanks to all who supported our kids by donating items for this special time of year.

Created New Opportunities for the Kids We Serve: The Elenbaas Career and Trades Center was completely finished, the goal was actually surpassed, and the new building was opened to our students to begin the program. Right now, our teens are taking different career classes and have the opportunity to be certified in ServSafe (safe food handling) and Comp TIA A+ (computer repair and entry-level IT) with more certifications to come!

Changed Lives Forever: Throughout 2020 we were able to watch lives change when we finalized 20 adoptions!  Our mission of connecting families hasn’t stopped- we’ve already finalized 3 adoptions in January 2021!

Met Our Challenges: Our COVID response as an organization was smooth, swift, and unified. We are grateful for our leadership for taking extra care in how we proceeded to operate as an organization and for our staff for displaying a great willingness to help and positive attitudes.

Expanded Our Team: We hired 68 great new team members in 2020, even throughout COVID. Our direct care, administrative, and maintenance teams have gained great new people who are passionate about our mission of serving kids and families!

Improved Our Campus: We were able to pave the main road on our campus through the support of our donors! This has been beneficial for Eagle Village as our campus is more accessible and safe for everyone.

Offered Counseling to Adults Struggling in 2020:  After decades of helping the children and teens in our care, we’ve launched counseling options for anyone in need! We offer:

  • Christian Based Counseling
  • Marriage Counseling
  • Family Therapy
  • Grief Counseling
  • Trauma Therapy
  • Therapy for Depression, Anxiety, and PTSD
  • Pre & Post Adoption Counseling
  • Child & Adolescent Counseling
  • Blended Family Counseling

These services are available to anybody at our campus in Hersey, at our office in Big Rapids, and virtually through teletherapy.

While 2020 was difficult, with support like yours we were able to continue our essential mission of serving, valuing, and equipping Michigan children and families for future success.
