Dear Prayer Partners,

“Wow! It’s a miracle isn’t it!?” These were the words of Eagle Village’s founder, Kermit Hainley, at our 50th Anniversary Celebration last week. And as we look around, we know it’s true. God has certainly guided and blessed over this ministry’s history.

But the miracle isn’t just the one big miracle that is Eagle Village. There are miracles happening every day here in the lives of kids and families. A couple of weeks ago, it was the miracle of salvation for three residents and one staff member who responded to the Gospel during Chapel. This week, we saw a miracle in the life of a young camper, who was able to overcome tremendous hurt and pain over the separation from his family. And we saw numerous miracles as God used volunteers from Woodland Shores Baptist Church to build up our kids and staff through intentional relationships.

We know that it is when you pray, that God works. So, thank you. I’ve included below a summary of our residential programs that will help you as you continue to pray for God to work this summer.

Wings Program – This includes our Putnam (boys) and Ashmun (girls) houses, which serve kids in the general residential population who have experienced abuse and/or neglect.

Passages Program – This includes our co-ed Leppien house, which is home to older kids preparing to transition to adult and independent living. They focus on completing school and learning important job skills through our Vocational Education program.

Explorers Program – This is our short-term assessment program, housed in the Assessment Center. Kids stay for 30 to 90 days, and a series of intentional assessments help to provide a plan for next steps for that youth.

Connections Program – This includes our Hainley (boys) and Sherk (girls) houses, and serves kids who have increased needs for mental health and behavioral support. The girls just moved into the completely renovated Sherk house last week.

Intervention Camp Programs – Legacy and Family Challenge are weekend camp programs for families, Project Survive is our wilderness summer camp for 13-17 year-olds, and Base Camp is our summer camp for 9-13 year-olds.

Thanks for your prayers and God bless!
