Dear Prayer Partners,
Just the other day one of our residents was overheard talking with a guest at a community event. She and several others were there to serve refreshments, share in conversation with those in attendance, and sing one of their favorite songs (My Lighthouse) during the program.
“I never went to chapel before I came to Eagle Village,” she said. “I never had a Bible; and I never knew about Jesus.”
It’s a familiar story for many young people, not just those who find themselves living at Eagle Village. But fortunately, it’s not the end of her story.
“Now I do,” she added. She regularly participates in our weekly chapel services, she owns her own Bible—thanks to the generosity of those who support our chapel programs—and she reads it every day. And there was something else: “Now I have a personal relationship with Jesus,” she said with a smile.
This is why we continue the work God has called us to: so that young people in our care can experience life-changing hope and encounter the life-transforming Gospel.
This month, we invite you to join us in celebrating with thanksgiving all that God is doing in the lives of the youth and families we serve and in the lives of the staff that God has called together for this great purpose.
2 Corinthians 4:15 reminds us that, “as God’s grace reaches more and more people, there will be great thanksgiving, and God will receive more and more glory.”
